Details: the Client - a leading technical university working alongside a smart metering device supplier - requested Teraton's assistance in identifying a novel battery technology to replace legacy primary Li-SOCl2 batteries from a smart metering device.
Teraton analysed the Client's technical constraints in terms of power demand, battery duration, temperature range, and delivered a technical report comprised of a techno-economic analysis of alternative battery chemistries (Li-ion, supercapacitors, Na-ion, etc.), as well as energy harvesting devices to be coupled with the energy storage device.
Two business models were proposed ana presented through the Business Model Canvas framework, and three potential scenarios were illustrated by means of a SWOT analysis to help the Client make an informed business decision.
Finally, a list of suitable vendors with contact details for each supplier was shared with the Client, to assist him moving their project forward.
